God's house or Godly ORGANISATIONS?

The world is a wonderful place where people are dragging their lives and what's helping everyone to move ahead is FAITH. But blind faith and wrong faith can simply not be entertained. My dear readers, look around you and you would see people either in talismans, or their fingers have disappeared behind rings meant to pacify the planets, or they are bowing down in front of mud dolls or wasting their money in buying stuff which are consumed not by the deities but by the ones who claim to be in touch with them. Some say that certain temples, churches, mosques give them peace. That on entering the ground a sense of bliss embraces them and in no time they feel rejuvenated. Let me ask you a simple question- When as a child you had felt insecure, didn't you go hide in your mother's arms? Did you not feel a similar bliss? If yes, then why cannot you worship your mother who feeds you when you are hungry, who sacrifices her favorite serial when your exams are ahead of you a...

ENOUGH NOW- Come let's face it!!!

Yes my dear readers I am writing this not on any other topic than women security. Even today in the interiors of India, people believe that a woman should be veiled and that clothes are the reason for them being raped. Why should only the people of the village be pointed finger at? Even in our cities dwell 'human beings', and mark my words when I am not specifying any gender I mean both, who feel that its a woman's outfit that calls for such lewd attention. I would like to ask you my dear reader, who I believe is radical enough to judge questions in a better manner- In India it is a common sight that men early in the morning are found under tube wells only in a gamchaa, bathing. Often some, in these early morning sightings, are seen only in briefs from where their penis is seen hanging obtrusively. I am sorry for my choice of phrases but isn't that what a man's brain thinks on seeing a woman's breast behind a tight outfit? So my question to you now- Why do ...

TAKI- The beautiful getaway from Kolkata

If you are planning for a weekend getaway and you happen to stay near Kolkata then Taki is the place you should dare to miss. Situated by Ichamati River, Taki has Bangladesh on the other side of the river. It is a land of the zamindars and sports a lot of zamindar baris (palacial buildings of the zamindars ) though most of them are dilapidated as the successors take little care to maintain the palaces. On being there one could hire a rickshaw van which would charge about Rs 25-30 per person for a good two hours ride. The places to visit in Taki are Golpota forests, mini Sundarban, Jora Shib Mandir, Zamindar Bari, and of course the beautiful Machhranga Island. For Machhranga Island one needs to book a launch from the ferry ghat. As the name suggests, Machhranga Island is one place where a lot of Kingfisher birds are to be seen. Standing on the island one can see Bangladesh from a closer proximity. During the famous Durga Puja immersions, people from both the countries assemble on...

IS IT ISLAM THAT KILLS?

Terrorism, in the 21st century, is something that has not only shaken up all parts of the world but also has it brought bad name to the Muslims. People all the world over abuse the religion for giving birth to people who spread terror and kill innocents. And on top of that a new radical Muslim group springs up every now and then. But let us think about it rationally. Does all these incidents actually make the religion or so to say the the Quran a piece of shit? Consider a group of people forming a new radical group going about saying that their religion asks them to kill people, that their religion asks them to fight against the innocent. Does that mean we start believing that there is problem in the religious scripts of that religion? Anybody can claim anything, but we have been gifted with a mind which is supposed to be used rationally and not just follow arbitrary nincompoops. It is also baffling to see that whenever a terrorist attack takes place the media all over uses th...

Her Diary

It was perhaps the most unfortunate hour when my friend's diary was in my hands. The one for which I had longed but now for which I long that I hadn't touched it. Written were the words laced with love. Poems it contained, all very indicating. Wonderful were those lines, but who were they for?  Within me, was it that jealousy that was talking to tear off the pages and burn them but, one more page, one more page and one more page. And with every turning page I drowned in her writings, I touched the pages to feel the touch left by her, but again the voice from inside called out, this time louder. This is what she had in store for me? Was this the reason why she kept it from me all these years. Tight-lipped about these damned pages was she, and now do I hold them in my hands, caress them and try to feel her touch? Was this written by Fates? But who were these lines for?  The question seemed to urge me more to go through the lines, slowly written with care, as if literally mean...

RTI weakened or not???

The latest Madras High Court order to ask for reasons to file an RTI application form has created a buzz not only among RTI activists but also among citizens. It is being said that this order is going to decrease the power vested in the hands of the citizens. According to the RTI Act, specially incorporated Section 6 (2), which says an applicant making request for information "shall not" be required to give any reason for requesting the information. Now that the Madrs HC says that applicants should file reasons for seeking the information is actually against the spirit of the Act is what the activists are saying. The HC, however, said that if informations (sic) are to be furnished to a person, who does not have any reason or object behind seeking such informations... the intention of the legislature is not to effect that such informations are to be given like pamphlets to any person unmindful of the object behind seeking such information. The questions now arise that wil...

The Jadavpur Circus

I am a slut of the first order. I take pride in opening my dress in front of boys of 'my' choice and I find no mistake in my doing so. I can often be found in compromising situations where I might be half naked publicly with the boy I wish to be with at that moment. I love being touched in my private parts by boys of 'my' choice. BUT, when I do not have my consent for a boy to touch me, it is MOLESTATION. The recent development in Jadavpur University, Kolkata, is shameful. A girl complains of being molested and the authorities say that the girl's past history is not acceptable and of one which is prone to attract such kind of activities. She was alleged to have been found with her friend, engaged in a compromising act which reportedly led to some students to approach her and molest her as she was found suitable for that kind of an act to be carried out with. Preposterous!  What followed was more shameful. The girl was reportedly said that if she does not take...
